Cel przedmiotu

 The aim of the course is to equip students both in the theoretical knowledge and empirical research competence in terms of analysis of social capital. The aim is also to prepare students for practical use of the obtained knowledge in designing and implementing projects of social and economic problem solving based on the concept of social capital.

THEMATIC SCOPE OF THE LECTURES:

  1. The issue of social capital in sociology and related disciplines.
  2. Social capital in view of J.S. Coleman, R.D. Putnam and P. Bourdieu.
  3. Controversy around the concept of social capital.
  4. Social capital and public sphere.
  5. Social capital and economy.
  6. Social capital and the problem of marginalization.
  7. Social capital and education and religion.
  8. Research methods of social capital.

THEMATIC SCOPE OF THE CLASSES:

  1. Social capital management strategies.
  2. Analysis of the projects.
  3. Creating the projects.
  4. Presentation of projects
  5. Implementation of the projects

Metody kształcenia

Conversational lecture, discussions, working samples method (simulation).

The minimum requirements threshold is to obtain 50% of points from written work.

In accordance with the Syllabus presented in the first meeting (lecture).

Lecture grade will be a mid-term grade.

FINAL GRADE*

Grades taken into account in the case of the final assessment.

Remarks:

Lecture + class graded.

Positive grading of classes and lectures (3.0-5.0) is a condition for a final credit.

The final grade is an arithmetic mean of the grades of classes
and a lecture*.
